How to Take a Screenshot on iPad?

iPad screenshot buttons depend on whether the device has a Home button. Modern iPads without a Home button use Top+Volume Up; older Home button iPads use Top+Home. Supported iPadOS workflows can also capture full page content.

iPad without a Home button

1. Open the screen.
2. Press the Top button and Volume Up together.
3. Release quickly.
4. Open the screenshot controls to edit, share or save.

iPad with a Home button

1. Open the screen.
2. Press Top and Home together.
3. Release quickly.
4. Use the screenshot preview/editor.

Full Page on iPad

On supported webpages/documents, take a normal screenshot and choose Full Page. This captures content beyond the visible screen. If Full Page is absent, the current app/content does not expose the extended capture workflow.

Apple Pencil / corner screenshot gestures

Supported iPads can expose Apple Pencil or corner gesture screenshot/Quick Note behavior depending on iPadOS settings and hardware. Check Settings for corner gestures if you prefer a stylus workflow over button combinations.

Where iPad screenshots are saved?

Normal screenshots appear in Photos under the Screenshots media type/collection. Full page captures can use Files/document oriented saving depending on the workflow you choose.
